Summary[]

Souma decides to to tour the city with Liscia and others are busy, Serina forces him to take Owen and Carla. Walking around town, Owen figures they are heading towards the slums, but Souma states its fine and it would be easier to just show them than explain it. Reaching it, the group can't believe they eyes, as they heard different things about the slums. Souma explains that they sanitized the place, rebuild the houses, and also eradicated the criminals and illegal drugs. Souma explains how pathogens could start from unclean places and that there are small invisible for the normal eye organisms that can cause decay and disease. Because of the magic in the world that can heal even serious injuries, the medicine and hygiene has not advanced much. However, that magic cannot treat the infections and injuries of the elderly, due to their diminished natural ability to heal.

Liscia wonders how can he make people acknowledge something they can't see and Souma explains that there is a race that using their third eye, they can see the germs and microorganisms. Carla realizes its the three-eyed race. Liscia is surprised that they agreed to work with Souma, as its a race that shunned contact with other races. Souma states its because of their third eye, as they can see how unsanitized the other races are. The three-eyed race also knows about pathogens and had developed medicine to fight the infectious disease, making their medicine level far above any other in the continent. Liscia realizes that must be the reason they live longer to around 80 years, while other humans and beastmen to around 60. Souma also made them create a microscope, with which he proved that three-eyed race is saying the truth about the microorganisms. The race had also developed antibiotics, which Souma calls "three-eyedine", an amazing medicine that can treat epidemics and prevents open wounds from festering. They are still unable to mass produce it, but are making quick steps towards it. The biggest bottleneck they had to overcome was the small number of gelmedics from which the three-eyedine is extracted. Gelmedics are subspecies of gelins, which can survive in unsanitary environments, and with Tomoe's help the gelmedics numbers are increasing. Although she can't communicate well with them, she found thei ideal environment for growth.

They see a woman spraying around and happy to sterilize the unclean. Souma explains that's Hilde Norg, a three-eyed doctor. Souma tries to introduce them, but Hilde already knows who Liscia and Carla are, but isn't interested in the filthy Owen. Hilde explains she often comes here to offer health tips, and to sanitize. Souma wonders about her partner Brad, but Hilde tells him to not call him her partner and that he is somewhere outside as he prefers to treat innocent stray dogs than overgrown pigs. Hilde wants Souma to talk with him, as he always makes her lecture the junior students. Liscia wonders who is Brad and Souma explains its Brad Joker, a young human doctor, who is a counterpart to Hilde. She wonders what Souma is doing there and Souma tells her he wanted to check on Ginger's job training center.

Souma and the rest go to the center. Meeting Ginger, Souma introduced everyone, but Ginger already knows Hilde, who often comes to teach the children about health care. Ginger explains that they are teaching children to read, write and do math during the day, and at evening, they are teaching adults. Souma and Ginger have plans to eventually start teaching more subjects, like training for civil engineers and adventurers who go into dungeons. Since most academic research is focused on magic and monsters, Souma believes there is an enormous amount of innovation to be found in other subjects. Ginger states there is big attendance, likely due to Souma's school lunch program. As others wonder what is that, Souma explains its a system from his world, where if students under 12 study at the center, they get a free lunch. Ginger states that the adults attendance is low and Souma tells him he will think of something. Souma then wants to continue his tour and to head outside the walls and into the refugee camps. Hearing that, Hilde decides to come along as Brad is there.

Reaching a refugee camp, Souma explains that the people here came from the north with nothing but their will to survive and have their own unique strength. But while their sense of unity grows stronger, their individuality also becomes watered down. Souma also explains they send food and firework supplies, and he ordered the adventurers guild to do security quests here. Liscia wonders why and Souma explains that since the people had lost their country, some, including even their own people, could think its fine to do certain things since it won't become an international problem. As they walk around, they see a group of people fighting and a man explains that some men appeared who wanted to kidnap their children, and now the adventurers are fighting them. Souma sends Owen and Carla to help the adventurers, and Hilde to assist the priest. Liscia remains to protect Souma, but he sees Juno in trouble and jumps in to save her. Souma is then forced into a one on one fight and manages to block the first attack. Liscia and Juno then come kill the man attacking Souma. Liscia then scolds Souma as he could have died. Juno then grabs Souma and asks him how he knows her name, causing Souma to wonder what to say. Carla and Owen return with two prisoners and Souma ignores Juno and asks who are the men. They explains they were hired by a slave trader. As the king of the country made the slaves into civil servants, the slave trader had failed his review process. The men wanted to sell the women and children for money and leave the country, and had heard the kingdom won't protect the refugees. Souma gets angry and punches the men. He tells Carla to go and report what happened to Hakuya, so that he can deal with it. As crowds had gathered, Souma announces that the adventurers saved the children and leave as the people gather around them to thank them. Souma then heads to see the refugees' chief, wanting to solve the refugee problem.
