Carla Vargas (カルラ・バルガス, Karura Barugasu) is a recurring character of Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki series. She is the daughter of Castor Vargas, granddaughter of Excel Walter, and friend to Liscia Elfrieden. She was formally the second-in-command to the Air Force of the Vargas Duchy and is currently a slave/maid to Kazuya Souma and Liscia.

Carla is a beautiful young girl with flaming red long hair and shining golden eyes. She looks like an sixteen or seventeen year old dragonewt girl with red wings and tail of a dragon.
Before being enslaved by Kazuya during the One Week War, she wore heavy armor in a metallic red color.
After being sent to work as maid under Serina, Carla wore a maid outfit with a flared skirt that only went down to above her knee and which accentuated her chest.
Working as Miss Dran, she wears a mask that covers the top half of her face, a swimsuit-like outfit with a cape that is open in the center to expose her cleavage and the end-of-the-century style spiked shoulder pads. She has two horns sprouting from her temples, dragon-like wings on her back and a whip-like tail growing at her back.
Personality[]
Like her father, Carla is headstrong and stubborn, with extreme pride. Though considered as very attractive, she has steadfastly refused all suitors, stating that she would never take a husband who was weaker than herself. She also shares her father's trait of leaping into battle without considering the consequences. After being enslaved, her arrogant personality started going down and she was forced to serve Kazuya.
She is quick to jump to conclusions, assuming Souma was vile and has likely violated Liscia. What makes this doubly ironic is that Souma is a good person and has been deflecting the pressure to conceive an heir from everyone.
Carla later suffered trauma from watching a cesarean section surgery that she assisted in; lashing out at Souma when he told her Earth had an almost 100% success rate. Because she was ignorant of blood transfusion, Carla thought it was always fatal.
Biography[]
Carla is the eldest child of Castor and Accela Vargas, being born around the same time as Liscia. She would take after her father and attend the Royal Officer's Academy, where she would befriend Liscia. She would go on to serve under her father in the Elfrieden Air Force.
Like Castor, Carla believed that Kazuya had usurped the throne and forced her friend Liscia into an unwanted engagement. This opinion would soften somewhat when she began receiving letters from Liscia attempting to urge her to side with Kazuya prior to the One Week War. However, Carla would put more faith in the opinion of her father Castor and side with him during the war. Although Castor wanted to cut all ties with his family in order to protect them prior to his rebellion, Carla steadfastly refused and followed her father into battle. However, like her father, her headstrong attitude would prove to be her undoing during the One Week War.
Carla would lead the charge against the Battleship Albert, but she did not realize that it was a diversion and had left her father vulnerable to a strike force led by Kazuya. By the time she had returned to the Red Dragon Castle, it was too late and her father had a Slave Collar placed on him. With no other choice, Carla submitted to having a Slave Collar placed on her. Now a slave to Kazuya, she was forced to help him win the One Week War.
In the aftermath of the One Week War, both Castor and Carla were charged with treason and faced the death penalty. Liscia would attempt to convince Kazuya to take Carla as a Royal Consort or concubine to save her friend, much to Carla's and Kazuya's embarrassment. He would reject this proposal and instead, utilizing the power of the slave collar she wore, sentenced Carla to serve as a royal maid for Liscia and himself. Kazuya would also give Carla a secret order that, in the event that he were to turn tyrannical in his rule, Carla would have permission to kill him. Carla would attempt to reject this secret order, as if she were to carry it out the slave collar would kill her as well, but she would ultimately accept due to the fact she had grown to believe Liscia would never allow Kazuya to get to such a tyrannical state.
In serving as a maid, Carla was placed under the tutelage of Serina, quickly becoming a favored target of 'buwwying, not bullying.' She has since taken over most of the general personal maid duties for Liscia from her mentor and was forced to wear a maid's uniform, to her embarrassment. Carla has frequently accompanied Liscia wherever she has gone, remaining by Liscia's side throughout the pregnancy. She has since become a routine caregiver to the twins and has become the first name that the twins have spoken, much to Liscia's disappointment.
One of Serina's 'buwwying' cases towards Carla resulted in Carla appearing as the recurring character Miss Dran on one of the Jewel Voice programs that is routinely broadcast. The costume associated with Miss Dran was specifically picked by Serina, and Carla has extreme disgust and embarrassment at wearing it. When she had begun aiding in the caretaking of the twins, Carla had believed that the character was behind her. However, Miss Dran would return during the special episode that was broadcast in conjunction with Morse Butchy's music study. Carla would unleash her rage for the character in the episode, devastating the hero and Miss Dran's 'boss.' Mostly due to her revealing costume, Miss Dran is a popular character among the men of the Friedonia, much to Carla's embarrassment.
Carla currently continues to serve as personal maid to, primarily, Liscia and aides her in caring for the twins Cian and Kazuha.

Dragon Powers: As a dragonnewt, Carla possesses abilities derived from true dragons albeit in a vastly smaller level that make her formidable in battle.
