Gauche Chima (ゴーシュ・チマ, Gōshu Chima) is a character of Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki series. He is the fourth child of Mathew Chima, the Duke of Chima.
Appearance[]
Gauche is noted as being the best archer in the world. All of the Chima siblings are all noted as being handsome or beautiful.
Personality[]
Gauche is said to have been overconfident and arrogant, feelings fed by his father Mathew as he raised Gauche's value through propaganda. He is noted to have been somewhat of a bully towards his younger siblings, especially Ichiha. Despite displaying tactical thoughtfulness, Gauche was also impulsive and despised being 'shown up' by others.
History[]
Gauche is the fourth child and third son of Duke Mathew Chima. He is regarded as talented due to his skills in archery, being regarded as the best in the world. His prospects as a retainer or husband were offered by his father as a reward to countries that aided the Duchy of Chima during the monster wave.
Gauche went to serve as a retainer to the king of a nation called Gabi within the Union of Eastern Nations after the battle in Chima. Gabi would be aligned with the anti-Fuuga faction in the Union, and thus was privy to the idea of an assassination plot against Fuuga Haan. Gauche allegedly had heard of this plot, of which he was intended to be a key element, but took initiative of his own accord to carry out the assassination. It was theorized by Gauche's brother, Hashim Chima, that his actions may have been the result of anger towards Ichiha, who Gauche had bullied as a child, when Ichiha had claimed great renown through his actions in Friedonia.
Gauche would fire several arrows at Fuuga during the assassination attempt. The first would strike one of Fuuga's soldiers, which spoiled the surprise element and would ultimately result in the assassination's failure. As Fuuga closed in on him, Gauche would shoot his final arrow, aiming for Fuuga's head. Fuuga managed to narrowly dodge the arrow, but did get scratched on the cheek. Fuuga's return shot hit Gauche in the chest, killing him instantly.
Gauche's actions and death spurred on his sister Mutsumi's devotion to Fuuga, Fuuga's attention being turned onto Mathew Chima, and Mathew's hurried attempt to unite the anti-Fuuga faction in the Union of Eastern Nations.
