Jewel Voice Broadcast

"Jewel Voice Broadcast" in the Manga

The true nature of the "Jewel/Gemstone" is unknown as its from the Lost Ancient Civilization, and the only place to get them is from a "Dungeon".

The only information that have been uncovered regarding them is that the "Jewel/Gemstone" are actually the "Dungeon Core", and that utilizing Water & Wind Elemental Magic on them causes them to take in the scenery around them and project through the receivers. Rest of its functions still remain a mystery.

The Jewel Voice/Gemstone Broadcast is the magical equivalent to the television camera. Receivers or viewers must be on the same 'magical wavelength' to be able to receive whatever images and sound the Jewel/Gemstone Broadcast Orb transmits. For example, Naden Delal had purchased a broken receiver and made it work with her electrical powers. Since it was bought from the Gran Chaos Empire, it could only receive programs from that country and not from other nations, such as Friedonia.

People who are skilled with water magic, such as Excel Walter are able to create viewers on their own, such as being able to transmit Kazuya's declaration of war at Fort Altomura. In most cases, a water-based viewer such as the Plaza Fountain in Parnam, are used to inform and entertain the masses.

Since Jewel/Gemstone Broadcast Orbs are actually dungeon cores, most nations have one or two of them. The Gran Chaos Empire has many of these orbs and therefore use them as part of negotiations with other countries. The Republic of Turgis were given an orb during the negations of the Tripartite Medical Alliance.

Usage[]

Before the arrival of Kazuya in Elfrieden, the Jewel Voice/Gemstone Broadcast was infrequently used by the various nations. Countries would utilize its functions only for the issuance of official government statements, such as Amidonia's routine vows of war at the new year. Since his arrival, while they are used still in the previous capacity, they have become the backbone of mass media. They have also been used to provide quick, secret lines of communication between nations, especially between Friedonia and the Gran Chaos Empire, though it is unclear if this was a previously used idea.

Kazuya was the first to suggest using the Jewel Voice/Gemstone Broadcast in a mass media sense to send information, education, and entertainment to the people. As they had no experience in such matters, Elfrieden government officials were initially skeptical of these uses. However, after the launch of such programs, their influence was accepted and promoted within Elfrieden.

Amidonia was the second nation to adopt the usage of mass media when the capital Van was occupied by Elfrieden forces after the One Week War. Though it could be argued that this was only due to the influence of Elfrieden, who was producing the broadcasts, the impact of the broadcasts in part led to the rebellion of the Amidonian people against the leadership of Julius Amidonia and the Amidonia region's subsequent annexation into what is now Friedonia.

The Gran Chaos Empire was the third nation that has been recognized as using the Jewel Voice/Gemstone Broadcast in a mass media capacity. This began shortly after Jeanne Euphoria witnessed the Elfrieden use of the broadcasts within Amidonia and brought the idea back with her. The Empire would go on to develop their own media empire. One of their most popular shows is one that follows the Empress Maria's daily life.
