Summary[]
As the days in the Elfrieden Kingdom continue, Carla is worked hard by Serina while Piltory became the ambassador sent to the Gran Chaos Empire. Owen becomes Souma's fighting instructor. After a training session, Souma goes with Ludwin and Liscia into Ludwin's region. He heads to the start of an abandoned dungeon where a good friend of his works. Ludwin explains how the Maxwell family became well known in research and he was friends with Genia since childhood.
They meet up with Genia who's a researcher and a former mage in the royal army. Apparently she was discharged after an accident occured. She explains how magic explains as things that don't make sense such as the Jewel Voice Broadcast made up of dead dungeon cores. Genia explains her overenthusiasm for learning how things work. She shows off her magic and a device known as the Susumu-Kun Mark V. Everything is blown away but Genia manages to turn off the machine. It's compared to a vacuum by using magic particles in the air. She hopes to use it to pilot a large ship. Souma likes the idea and asks about the power source. Genia gives him a small cube known as a chaos core.
