Mathew Chima (マシュー・チマ, Mashū Chima) is a character of Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki series. He is the Duke of Chima.
Appearance[]
Mathew Chima is a man of average weight and height, and graying black hair and a Kaiser mustache that makes him look to be about fifty years old. Though his smile was like a kindly old man, his appearance resembled that of Sebastian of the Silver Deer or Lord Weist of Altomura.
Personality[]
Mathew is regarded as a shrewd negotiator. The Duchy of Chima is a small country within the Union of Eastern Nations, but has routinely had its requests met by the Union due to Mathew's dealings. During the monster wave, he offered six of his own children as rewards to the countries that offered the greatest support to the Duchy to serve as spouses or retainers.
Biography[]
It is unknown how Mathew Chima came to be the ruler of the Duchy of Chima. He was previously married to an unnamed wife who died several years ago. He has eight children, but it is only the first seven that were regarded internationally as talented individuals.
When first meeting, Kazuya is put on guard against Mathew, sensing his negotiator motives as much like his own or Hakuya's. At his initial meeting, Mathew had brought his eldest daughter Mutsumi, possibly in an attempt to sway Kazuya to select her as his reward for the assistance Friedonia was providing. While Kazuya was impressed by Mutsumi, he would realize that Fuuga Haan also had his sights on Mutsumi and would eventually meet and realize the potential of Ichiha Chima, the youngest son of Mathew. During the victory celebration, Mathew was stunned that Kazuya passed on selecting any of his children when given first selection, and was likewise stunned when after the six offered children were selected that Kazuya then requested permission to select Ichiha, which Mathew agreed to.
