Nike Chima (ニケ・チマ) is a character of Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki series. He is the seventh child of Mathew Chima, the Duke of Chima.
Appearance[]
Nike is specifically mentioned to be a beautiful boy. He is regarded as a spearman whose spear moves faster than the eye can follow.
Personality[]
Nike is said to be overconfident in his abilities, a feeling fed by his father Mathew as he raised Nike's value through propaganda. He was the one to bare a majority of his brother Nata and Gauche's bullying before Ichiha came along. Though he did not directly participate in demeaning Ichiha, he did not intervene either. He is sympathetic to Ichiha because of their similar experiences, and grateful to Mutsumi for her efforts to protect him.
Biography[]
Nike is the seventh child and fourth son of Duke Mathew Chima. He is regarded as talented due to his skill with the spear, said to move faster than the eye can follow. His prospects as a retainer or husband were offered by his father as a reward to countries that aided the Duchy of Chima during the monster wave.
Though it is not directly stated which country selected Nike to serve them after the battle in Chima, the country in question joined the pro-Fuuga faction and dismissed Nike from their service. Nike would return home to Chima, which his brother Hashim found suspicious given Nike's close relationship with Mutsumi. Nike would imply that he had been contacted by Mutsumi to feel out the future of the Duchy of Chima.
When anti-Fuuga faction forces moved to battle Fuuga's army, Nike traveled with Mathew. Nike was taken aback by the depth of Mathew's apparent indifference to the lives of both himself and all the Chima children, Nike included. Mathew professed that the only thing that mattered was the survival of the Chima lineage, which occasionally turned its family members against each other.
Nike would not take part in the battle between the factions, but did affiliate himself with his sister Mutsumi. However, his refusal to take sides in the conflict meant that he was not to be considered a loyal subject under the new dynasty of Fuuga and Hashim. As such, he decided to leave the former Union of Eastern Nations. At Mutsumi's request, he took their sister Sami with him to the Kingdom of Friedonia, as she was attempting to lead a rebellion after the assassination of her adoptive father.
Nike traveled to Friedonia to deliver Sami into the care of their brother Ichiha, after which he intended to depart and find his own path. During the discussion with Kazuya about this, the meeting was interrupted by Kuu, who believed the serious matters to be finished. Kuu instantly, and accepting no refusal on Nike's part, took Nike on as a retainer to join him upon returning to the Republic of Turgis. Nike, lamenting the cold, left Friedonia for Turgis when Kuu returned.----
