Appearance[]
Sami is regarded as an excellent mage and being skilled in accounting and mental arithmetic. All of the Chima siblings are all noted as being handsome or beautiful. It is noted that Sami and her sister Yomi wear their hair in a ponytail to one side, opposite the other. Sami's stature is noted to be on the petite side.
Personality[]
Sami is noted to be a bookworm that spent much time reading in the Duchy of Chima's library. She was subjected to the bullying of her brother Nata and Gauche due to her talents not being of a physical nature. She is considered wise and capable, to an extent, of reading her father Mathew's schemes and motives. She is close with her twin sister but also cares about her sister Mutsumi and brother Ichiha. However, Sami does not like being overlooked compared to the accomplishments of her other siblings, Yomi aside.
Biography[]
Sami is the sixth child and third daughter of Duke Mathew Chima. She is regarded as talented due to her skills as a mage as well as her financial and mathematical talents. Her prospects as a retainer or wife were offered by her father as a reward to countries that aided the Duchy of Chima during the monster wave. Sami was taken in by the Kingdom of Roth and King Heinrant Roth. Heinrant took a liking to Sami and adopted her as his daughter.
After the attempted assassination of Fuuga by her brother Gauche, Sami and Heinrant attended a meeting, which her twin sister Yomi came to with her fiancé Lombard Remus, to discuss the future of both the Kingdom of Roth and Kingdom of Remus in regards to the rising conflict between pro and anti-Fuuga factions in the Union of Eastern Nations. After Sami and Yomi's advisement to either remain neutral or join the pro-Fuuga faction, Heinrant decided to remain neutral in the conflict.
After Fuuga defeated the anti-Fuuga faction within the Union of Eastern Nations, Heinrant was invited to a banquet along with other parties that had remained neutral during the conflict. He attended, despite Sami's advisement against doing so, and was killed in the supposed terrorist attack. Sami believed, correctly, that the attack was not a random occurrence but was rather orchestrated by Fuuga and Hashim to remove any potential future opposition. In retaliation, Sami attempted to lead the Kingdom of Roth in rebellion against Fuuga.
When King Remus and Yomi arrived to put down Sami's rebellion, Sami attempted convince the two to join her instead. Realizing that Sami was going to be distraught with grief, Mutsumi had sent Nike to spirit Sami away from the unified Eastern Nations to the Kingdom of Friedonia. Nike made his move during the confrontation between Sami and Yomi, knocking Sami out. He would bring Sami to Kazuya, who accepted the emotional defeated Sami as a refugee. Sami was placed under the care of Ichiha, and given access to the royal library.
Trivia[]
In the English translation of the light novel, Sami and her sister Yomi's description of their talents are the only ones to change in between volumes. Volume 8 regards them as only being skilled mages, while Volume 9 differentiates their talents and includes other abilities.
